Renovation Time!

All the prep done, ready for some color!!

This is my dining room right after I had finished all the prep work for the color

My red diningroom!!

This is the diningroom I’ve finished the first coat of dark RED paint! I’m so excited about this room :) So if you are wondering where I’ve been, we have been sooo busy with all the renovations that we are doing on the house. We work out at the house any spare (or even not so spare) moment we can get out there. It’s a 45 minute drive from where we are living right now so that makes it a challenge to go over there very often and consequently the work is taking longer than we would like (of course we would like to be in the house, yesterday!

Our home is a manufactured home that has sat vacant for nearly two years, so the damage that was done to the house during those two years was pretty significant. There were problems in the roof that needed to be addressed a long time ago and have caused problems in several places in the walls and subflooring. We also discovered last week that we are really going to have to replace the siding on the house, and instead of being able to fix our decks, we are going to have to build a new deck (at least in the back. Anyway, it’s been busy around here!

We get the cabinets and laminate flooring on friday, we’ve already got the tubs, vanity’s, lighting for the kids bathrooms and the plumbing should get started early next week. We are so excited about the master bath, we are finally going to get the corner tub we’ve wanted and getting an amazing deal! It’s hard to believe that we are going to have not one but three remodeled bathrooms when all is said and done! We still have so much work ahead of us. I have painted two rooms and a closet, I still have 11 rooms to go, we also need to tear off the decks, fix the subfloors, install laminate/linoleum, build and install the cabinets, do finish work in all of our bathrooms, then in the summer we will be building a deck, I will be painting the house, and we will reside our whole house, along with all the yard work that we will be doing. It’s going to be a very busy few months, I will be so glad to be moved into the house so the work can continue at a more steady pace. But for now I will take my breaks and enjoy them when I can.

I think I will go and try to wash the paint out of my hair :) I look like I am going grey, but I’m really not!

If you want to stay updated on the progress on the house just go to my flickr page and you can see the recent pictures.

Way to go, you are amazing! I’m sure once you are done that house is going to be amazing. I’ve been praying that God will give you the strength you need to get it all done.

    Love in Christ,

How exciting! I love red. And I think we are using the same color you used in the kitchen in our bedrooms. Praying for strength and perseverance as you do all this work.
