Update on the house situation

We are going to put a bid on the house hopefully tomorrow. It’s been amazing to see how all the pieces have fallen together. There are still several obstacles to go through before it’s final but so far so good. We’ve never been in this place before, it’s a very exciting adventure.

Some areas that we are praying for-

-That our bid gets accepted and we can move forward on the process of obtaining the loan. We will find out at the beginning of the week if our bid was accepted.

-When the bid is accepted that the inspection goes well and they don’t find anything unrepairable.

-When the contractor bids the rehab, we are praying that we will be able to stay within a budget that is reasonable to keep our mortgage affordable, and that we will find the right contractor to do the job, someone who is honest and a hard working guy.

-We are also praying that we will be able to lock in on a really low interest rate. The rates are really good right now, under 6% but we are hoping for 5%.

We still have a long way to go before we know for sure if this is going to work out, but every day it is looking more hopeful. The kids had a blast when we went to look at the house today, they just ran and ran and ran! Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention, it has five bedrooms and it said on the add that there were 1.25 baths, but it has 3 full baths! I’m imagining 5+ teenagers getting ready, 3 bathrooms would be a real blessing! :)

I would strongly suggest going to this site and reading as much as you can. He’s a loan person and a real estate agent and has LOTS of good information that should be read before making decisions on real estate with thousands of dollars of money!

Thanks, I will check it out. We do have a great real estate agent and our lender is a Christian friend who is very trustworthy. :)

I am not sure if you have it there, but I know we have a taz credit here that is $7,500 for first time home buyers or if you haven’t bought a house in three or more years. Worth checking into!

I’m so excited about 3 whole bathrooms!!! I couldn’t believe there could be 5 bedrooms and only 1.25 bathrooms!! I can hardly wait to see how this all comes out, and to see your new place. When you were just a little girl I used to tell people, “Jenni will make some farmer a good wife!” Because you were so good with all the animals, and loved all the things that go with being a farmer. Now I tell them, “Jenni is determined to make Chris into a farmer!!”

I was just over at Grandma Webster’s, and we were remembering 11 kids and only one bathroom!! That was until we moved into the house that Grandpa built, and Sam and I (and maybe Patty) were out of high school!! So that made at least half a dozen teenagers!
