Proud Guenna

Guenna helping mommy make cookies

The other day I was swinging on the swing in the yard (we will be putting it away to the garage soon). Guenna came up to me and gave me a big hug around my neck and whispered to me with a big smile on her face, “I’m so proud of you mommy!” That was a sweet moment. One of those moments that if you could you would capture it in a bottle to relive it again and again. She’s two and a half, we all know how challenging the twos can be at times. But they are equally as sweet as they are challenging. There are so many firsts that happen during the year between two and three. She is discovering so much about herself and about life around her, about how she’s going to be a mommy one day and not a daddy. She’s discovering her boundaries and beginning to enjoy new freedoms, she’s learning how to truly contribute to the household chores and daily tasks. She’s discovering her power to manipulate and to be a blessing. She’s a handful for sure, but I love her, and I love her baby sister and the relationship that is developing between the two of them. Their girliness brings such a different element to the dynamics of the Burns household. We love them so much!
