Back from the ER

It’s 2:00am but thought I would do a quick post (mostly for my mom since I’m not going to call her and couldn’t call her while I was in the hospital). I just spent 8 hours in the ER, hooked up to a bunch of machines, they did tons of tests, Chest x-rays, two different orders of blood work, I had a wonderfully uncomfortable IV in the whole time, they did ultrasound on my legs to see if their was a clot. The only thing that came back positive was the blood work on the clotting. They were going to admit me into the hospital because they cant do the VQ scan until tomorrow, but he was able to give me a blood thinner tonight so that I’m safe through the night until they get results from the VQ scan in the morning. When that comes back negative I think I can finally be done and get back to just being a normal mom again. My poor boys, they get worried when I’m “sick” so I didn’t tell them I was going to the “hostible.”

Thanks mama Joan for coming and hanging out with me all those hours in the ER waiting, and wondering and trying not to worry. And thanks babe for taking care of our babies, you are the best daddy in the world, I’m so glad that I got to come home tonight instead of staying there over night, I miss you.

Will keep you posted when I hear the results of this other test, but I’m thinking everything is going to be okay. Which is wonderful, the doctor said that blood clots in the lungs is one of the biggest killers in prenatal women. So they treated it pretty seriously. I’m just glad that I’m probably okay :) Thanks for all your prayers, and goodnight!

    Jenni,
Goll…I hope all of this settles down! You feel so vulnerable when you’re pregnant ya know? It’s wierd..I had an almost exactly similar situation late in my last pregnancy. Same symptoms…called Charlotte…Charlotte just had another young mother with the lung clot thing….wierd. Not a fun feeling for sure. I hope you’re feeling better. I hate hostibles too.

    Will be praying.

    Love, Liz

Oh my dear Jen (and family). I am so sorry to hear that you had to go through all that no-fun stuff. I agree, w/ kids it’s no big deal, but now that we have little ones (and a hubby) that are daily needing us, our lives are precious in a way we didn’t know before. Dear Jesus, please heal Jenni’s body inside and out! Restore, refresh and renew anything. Thank you that you are a God that is able to do all that we can ask or imagine! Amen…God bless you and your family Jen.

Bless you, pregnancy is already a worrying enough time without something like this happening! I hope that it all turns out to be nothing, and that you just need some stronger antacids, but it sounds like you’re having pretty good care taken of you right now. Thinking of the kids as well, especially the boys (being that little bit older) as I know how worried my boys get if I’m unwell. I hope that you post soon that you’re all completely well again and you can get on with enjoying your pregnancy.
