Chris and Jenni

My baby is 5 years old today. Those five years have flown by, and yet somehow I feel like I’ve been his mother all my life, I can’t imagine life without my children. He is steadily growing up. He wants to be a man so badly (which I think is a good thing!) The other day he was looking at his leg and said, “Mom! The hairs on my leg are getting really big!” They really haven’t changed much but for some reason they looked much more “manly” to him :)

Yesterday Aidan asked me a very mature question, “Mommy, what would happen if you and daddy never told us what to do?” I replied, “Well, what do you think would happen Aidan?” He said confidently, “We would grow up to be fools.” That’s exactly right!

There are so many joys in being your mother Aidan. You have such a tender heart towards your daddy and I. You have always loved the idea of having a wife and I love that about you, you will make a great husband one day. You are learning to be a great protector for your little sisters, and you take your job seriously. You really appreciate your brother’s friendship, I’m so blessed by the bond of friendship you two have, it brings me so much joy to see you guys playing together and playing with your sisters. I know that one day I will look at you in the eye and see a man of God standing before me and wonder, “where did my little boy go?” I hope and pray to look back on all those years without regret, looking forward to your future as the leader of your home and the head of your wife. You will make a great leader one day Aidan! I pray that God will give me wisdom this year in how to continue to lead you into the arms of God, and how to run to Him, your strong tower in times of need. I love you son, thank you for loving me and for forgiving me so quickly when I fail. You are the joy of my heart.
