Little boys on hair cuts…
March 10th, 2008 by Jenni
Mommy - “Aidan do you notice anything different about me?”
Aidan - “You are really pretty.”
Mommy - “Thank you Aidan, but do you notice anything different about my hair?”
Aidan - “The light is shining on your hair and making it shine, and you are really pretty, you are always really pretty mommy.” I think he was thinking I was feeling a little insecure about how pretty I am.
Mommy - “Thank you Aidan. Look at my hair, can you tell that it is shorter? Remember it used to be down to here and now it’s up to here?”
Aidan - The smile left his face. “But I didn’t want you to cut your hair off mommy, you looked much prettier with it not cut off!”
Boys, boys. He is his father’s son! Chris loves my long hair, but even he realizes that it’s just hair and yes, it has to be cut from time to time. I just thought it was so sweet that he had such a strong opinion :)

Jenni, My boys were the same way. I would ask them should I get my hair cut and they always said “No, our mom has long, long hair!” So when I made the decision to cut my hair I did not consult them. For some reason boys just do not notice those physical changes, but if you ask they do have an opinion!
Love you,
Kelley
Isn’t that funny? That was the first thing I noticed when I saw you for the first time after you cut your hair. It was such a dramatic change! :)
Ah yes. The hair. And see I had looked at you at church and thought you’d just dropped 10 pounds or so. I was thinking it must be that early pregnancy appetite aversion but layers do “slenderize” the face! Haaaa! That is SO my moms’ word. “Slenderize”. :)
Come to think of it…I desperately need some layers…. :o I desperately need something…

I forgot to mention anything about your new hair cut its beautiful…..You look as if you are gazing into your Lovers eyes, but we all know there are 4 babies around your ankles waiting to be picked up!!!
Your Beautiful!
Kelley
Love your new hair cut!!!
Well…It’s not TOO short! You know I’m still waiting for it to get long enough for you to sit on, like when you were 7!! I never should have cut it! :) (It does look nice, though)
Thanks Liz :) “Slenderizing!” That is just what I need! Rene said on Sunday that I am “slimming down” but I think it must be the hair cut because I haven’t lost any more weight!
Kelley, that is really funny, actually if my eyes are looking dreamy it’s because I was thinking of my pillow. My eyes were very heavy and he was forcing me to smile for the picture :)
Yep, there’s something about boys. When I cut my looong hair for the first time in a long time, Jaron was about 5. He cried. Wept. Was completely undone. I was so shocked, because the older girls liked it and it just simply didn’t affect them the way it did their brother. Not sure what it is…
