Nest boxes, walk ways, garden boxes, new tools. Wow!

My sis was wanting to see pictures of the nest boxes that I built the chickens this past week with my new saw and drill :) Here they are, along with the new ramps we made for them going up to the roost as well as the new boxes. Hoping this will help create less confusion for the new hens, not sure why but they are not coming in at night, I’ve been having to bring them in every night :) That’s okay, I don’t mind but I’m hoping they start to figure it out one of these days!
Here’s our new lawn mower that we bought off of Craigslist, and let me tell you, it runs beautifully and I can use it because it is so light. Plus I can feed the clippings to the chickens, although they got the runs today from too much grass!
Our new chicks, aren’t they just the cutest!
My new boots, these were needed pretty badly! But aren’t they cute? :)

Our garden boxes, ready for some tilling and some fresh dirt. I’m soooo excited about these. I can’t wait to have a real garden this year!!!
This is an outdoor shelter Chris built for the chickens, we’re going to put siding on it. It’s just so they have another place to get out of the rain and I might put a couple nest boxes in there, we’ll see.

Well, I think that is all for now. We had a fun and full day today, it was beautiful and we had so much fun being out in the sun and feeling the warmth! It definitely felt like spring! Going to bed now, have a good week! (By the way, there are a lot more pictures just didn’t have any time to write about them, maybe another day)!

We bought some chickens that liked to roost in the trees at night. We ended up locking them in their coop for 4-5 days and feeding them in there. We now feed them once a day (at night), and they are racing us in to eat. The rest of the day they are out and about. Hope you have the same success, if you try it.
Wow, sis! Great job! You’ve been a busy lady! I don’t have much time to comment tonight. I’d better get to bed. Thanks for the pictures! Wish I had potty training ideas for you, but I haven’t been there yet. :-) I’ll be coming to you in a couple years or more.
Love you!
Talk to you later!
Thanks Karen, the hens all put themselves to bed last night for the first time. I think they were just used to a different routine and I had to train them to come in at night. The white one though prefers to sleep on the ground, kind of funny. I think maybe they didn’t have a roost in their former coop.
Thanks sis, isn’t that a fun thought, you will be potty training your little man in a couple years! :) Thanks for the comments ladies!
