Babies, babies!

For those of you who were not able to watch the video we posted, and are just dying to know what our news is, we are expecting again! My due date is June 19th (my sister’s birthday), so I’m only about 5 1/2 weeks pregnant, but already feeling the symptoms of course. I usually think the first couple weeks, “maybe I wont get sick this time.” And then around 6+ weeks it hits me, pretty much 24/7 for about 5-6 weeks. But I can always hope this time will be different. Today was my first real day of pregnancy tiredness, I’m not real excited about a lack of energy right now, but I know we will get through this and I will be just fine. The first trimester is always the hard part!

The questions, weird looks, comments, have already started rolling in :) But I just want to say, thank you for all of your positive responses, and congratulations. We ARE really excited about this new family member and believe that God has really blessed us. We have both wanted a large family, even before we got married and feel so honored that the Lord is blessing us with our heart’s desire. Children are a blessing from the Lord, but in order to have a large family, you’ve got to do the hard part first, carry and deliver babies! I count it such a joy and a blessing to carry another child in my womb, I count it a joy that my husband and I are on the same page and we are both, along with our children, excited to be having another baby next year. I think June will be a perfect time for another baby.

It is hard to imagine having 5 little ones, but I wouldn’t trade one of them for the world. Nor would I trade my life for the world! I love being home with them, I love being a wife. I love the joys and thank God for the struggles. People have asked, “where are you going to put all those babies?!” The great thing is that God has given us creative minds and we make due with what we have at the time. I honestly wouldn’t want too much more space (we live in a 750, two bedroom house), with my kids being so small, a larger house would be too much for me to keep on my own until the older ones can help out more. The other day Aidan was complaining a little about his little brother getting into his “space,” I think while they were in bed, they share a twin bed. I just told him, “well you know Aidan, some kids have to have a room all by themselves. They have to sleep all by themselves in a room and it must get lonely. How would you like it if you had to have a room all by yourself, and if you didn’t have anyone to sleep with at night?” Aidan said soberly, “it would make me sad.” “See son, we just need to be more thankful for our siblings and then we wont have to complain about them so much.” Life has so much to do with our perspective. Will we be able to buy all of our kids the cutest clothes, toys, stuff? No. Do we even want to? Sometimes, and sometimes we will. But God never promises that He will provide the “best” according to the world’s standards. He does promise to cloth us a beautifully as the lilies of the valley, and the feed us like the birds of field. We have never wanted for anything. Why would God bring us here only to starve our children when they are older because they eat more? He wont, but it takes faith to see into the future, God will never leave us nor forsake us.

Well, now you have my two cents. If you are wondering what we are thinking, why in the world we want more babies, I said it before. We are really just trying to take over the world, we figure that our 11th child will be the president of the United States or something like that. Stranger things have happened :) Well, this mama better head to bed, it’s way too late!

Good night, may God be with you and yours!

*****UPDATE*******

For those of you who are coming directly to this post, we are actually in the middle of a miscarriage. You can read more about it here.

Congratulations! I was wondering if that might be it since Aiden seems to have it all figured out! LOL!

Taking over the world, huh? Never thought of that one! Maybe we can use that reason too… :-)

It’s not about the cute Gap clothes, (who spends 25 dollars on a pair of baby pants anyways!?!?!) the new toys, the water park passes and all that. Its about giving them unconditional love (which we know you two are full of for you kiddos!) and showing them the simple things in life.

we are so very happy for you guys and can’t wait to watch the milestones of this pumpkin too!

Many congrats Jenni and Chris! So excited for you! After having our twelfth blessing almost 2 years ago, and not having gotten pregnant again …yet, I am experiencing the “other side”….not empty nest, ha, our nest is far from empty, but more like “empty womb”. LOL! Would love to have more babies, but trusting God that He knows best and KNOW we are so blessed to have the twelve He has given us. Enjoy the busy, crazy days of lots of little ones in your arms…it doesn’t last forever.

    Well, Congrats Chris and Jenni!!
I don’t think negatively, I just think more power to you, you will need it!! :) Having a family of ANY size is a gift from God, no matter if you have only one or if you have 3 or 12. It is the attitude that counts, and so I sincerely am happy for you.

I was just talking with my son this week about how our family is our best friends…What friendships your family will have! My 4 children share 1 bedroom and they love each other very much. (yes, Noah gets into Sam’s stuff…but have a very special friendship, even 9 years apart.)
    Congratulations to you guys again!
