Sick again-Part III
March 27th, 2007 by Jenni
A great way to not gain a bunch of weight the last few weeks of your pregnancy is to have a complete system clean-out once a week a couple days before your midwife appointment. But I wouldn’t recommend it though, it’s not very fun.
Today was almost an exact replay of last Tuesday. I thought I had the flu but after today I’m thinking it is more related to being 39 weeks pregnant. I know that flu symptoms can be a sign of labor starting, but I haven’t had many contractions to speak of. I was thinking maybe it was the smoothie that I drank this morning because the last time I drank one was last Tuesday and I threw it up. But my midwife didn’t seem to think so, and Eamon drank the same smoothie as me this morning so probably not. But just to be on the safe side, I wont be drinking any more smoothies until after the baby comes!
Chris came home at lunch and took care of me and the kids all day, I have such a good husband. I’m starting to feel better already but I’m still feeling pretty weak and drained from all the fluids I lost today. Hoping that my body doesn’t do this again next Tuesday! I think having this baby sooner than later would probably be a good thing, even if I still have lots to do before he/she comes! I’m just thankful I didn’t go into labor during all that lovely sickness today. I know people who get sick during their labors and I feel sorry them, labor is draining enough without being sick!
Anyway, enough talk about that! Hopefully my week will return to it’s regular schedule and I can cross a few more things off my To-Do list before I have this baby :) Thanks sweetie for taking the kids tonight so I could get some needed rest, you are the best husband in the world! And our children have the best daddy! I love you :)
P.S. I just have to say this one cute thing. This morning when I was just starting to get sick Eamon was wanting to climb on my lap and was wanting something from me. I told him, “I’m sorry honey, my feels really sick so I can’t do that right now.” He said, “Noooo!!!” in a very disappointed tone. Poor guy, I’ve been sick a lot these last few weeks and the kids don’t seem to appreciate it very much, they are so used to having their mommy be well. And for that I am very thankful.

Oh dear, Jenni, so sorry to hear you were sick again today! We are praying for you!
39 weeks along! Only a little longer…have any of your babies come early? I remember last year Guenna was 5 days late (I think…I only remember so well because we shared a due date) but I didn’t know you when your other babies were born. With my children it’s funny, my girls are always late, and my boys are always early…
Hey Jenni,
Wow! Sick again, huh?
Gosh…..it sounds like our house. Noah was the first one to get sick and he lovingly passed it on to Natalie who in turn passed it on to Timmy who in turn passed it on to Chrissie and Noah simultaneously. Noah is sick again, but with no fever this time. I think he may have to have his adenoides removed. He has an appointment with the ENT tomorrow afternoon to take a look.
I’ve had a slight tummy discomfort for a couple of days….yuck! And like you, it happened after eating the same thing that caused it a couple of weeks ago. Weird!!! I had rotisserie chicken from Haggens the first time and then had it again from Coscto the 2nd time. It didn’t affect anyone else though so I am thinking my body just can’t handle the grease from the skin. I didn’t eat the skin, but since it was cooked with the skin on, it’s greasier than normal.
I can hardly wait to hear that you are in labor. Yes….please let us know so we can pray for you and hopefully we’ll get a phone call when the baby arrives!??
I hope you are feeling better!
We’ll talk to you soon!
Love,
Jana
Oh I hope you get better soon!
