38 weeks pregnant-self portrait :)

Here I am, 38 weeks pregnant with baby number 4! I wanted to get this picture up tonight and Chris had to go back to work so I had to figure out how to do it myself! Not too bad eh? :)

So I have two weeks to go, hard to believe. The one positive thing about being so sick a couple days ago is that I lost the 5 lbs I gained last week so I'm back down to a total gain of 7 lbs this pregnancy! If I only gain 20 lbs this pregnancy I will be happy, because I usually lose 20 the first week! Which may not happen this time if I haven't gained 20 :) Anyway enough about that...my midwife said I'm dilated to 2 cm and the baby's head was down low so that would explain why I measured smaller this week than last week. Those are good signs that the baby is coming sometime in the next few days or few weeks! :) I'm really not anxious to have the baby early, I have a lot to do between now and the time the baby is due. It's the first time I've not felt really anxious to have the baby in the last couple of weeks. So it's a nice feeling :) I better get those clothes out though, if I have a girl I don't want her to have to wear boy clothes!

Speaking of which, Aidan informed me the other day that he thought we should have a boy. I asked him why and he told me, "because then we would have a boy and a girl!" As if he and Eamon didn't count as babies, made sense to him :) He told Charlotte tonight that we are going to have a girl because of all the boy clothes. He's so cute! They were just adorable tonight. We were sitting on the bed at Charlotte's, talking and having finished listening to the baby etc. Aidan came up to me and said that he wanted to "get up on the bed and go through the whole thing." I didn't know what he was talking about, but I finally figured out that he was wanting to listen to the baby's heart beat again. So we let him listen to his own heart beat with the stethoscope and he and Eamon listened to each other's baby's for quite a while. They are so cute and are so excited about having this baby! So are we! If only we could come up with a boy name :) I'm sure if we have a boy it will just hit us as soon as the baby comes, right? This is the first time I've felt so unprepared! Oh well, life will go on. Well, good night.

you look wonderful! that is amazing about your weight! I am excited for you. Is it a pound a week at the end? i forget… I am sure you will barely hit 15 for this pregnancy. how about the name Mason? I saw it earlier and thought of you actually. It reminded me of building, yes, but also building a life on God’s Word. A life of Christianity, and love. I know you couldn’t find out at the ultrasound so it wasn’t keeping it secret b choice, but its got to be an awesome feeling that you’re going to find out very soon! i’d love to keep a babies sex a secret, i just dont have patience like some women do! :-) hope you continue to get rest before the little one chooses to come!

I am amazed that you only have 2 weeks!
Our last was our only to not know the gender. We did have names either way but the mystery was kinda neat.

Our friends just had a 3rd boy and each of their boys names end in “an”. You could go with something like too…if you like it. They chose Ian, that could work, eh? I think it means God is gracious.

Although maybe you don’t need to pick a boy name. Can’t wait to find out. :)

Sara, I’m not sure about the weight, if you are talking about the baby then yes I think it is about a lb a week the last four or so weeks. If you are talking about the mother, it totally depends on the woman! :) I have always gained the most in my last month of pregnancy, I do pretty good throughout and then that last month and a half put on about 20 more lbs! But oh well :) In due time it will come off!

Thanks ladies for the name suggestions. We think we probably have a first name picked out but we are stuck on the middle name (although even our first name isn’t in stone!) Oh well, it will come to us if we need a name, but I always love to hear suggestions from others :) Maybe when we see the baby we will just know? I’ve heard that to be true and then again I’ve heard of people not naming their baby for days which would be kind of strange! We’ve always had a name picked out long before the baby came! Just another adventure :)

I’m very happy for you guys. Chris, did you know Susan DeVries passed away on March 15? You can read the obit here: http://www.legacy.com/skagitvalleyherald/Obituaries.asp?Page=Notice&PersonID=86871572
There’s also a space to sign a guestbook. She made such an impact on so many lives. Will you be the one?

You look great Jenni! And how exciting, only two weeks to go! (or less than that now…) It is so cute how the boys are so involved and so excited about the baby. :) I’ll be praying that everything goes smoothly in these last couple weeks…
