Doctor’s visit and pictures of Guenna’s owie

Here's a picture we took of her owie, it's kind of blurry but you get the idea, the burns go across the hand and fingers, poor baby! The doctor said it looks pretty good as far as burns go, so we have another appointment on Friday and I'm sure again next week just to make sure we're doing a good job dressing her owie and keeping the infection out. That's it for now.

Did I mention it's snowing again?! We've had more snow this year! I'm going to pick Chris up from work so he doesn't have to ride home in it, it's pretty cold out there, then I think we will go out for dinner! :)

I had Haley with me when I checked to see if you had any updates. She kept saying “baby, baby” the whole time. Can’t wait until the two can meet.
Oh Owie! I hope she feels better soon. I know of another large family, who’s little girl got that same, electic stripe-y burn, on her face. It looked so angry and red. But eventually healed just fine.
Praying for Guenna,
Amy
Ouch!! Good thing she looks happy, not miserable. I hope she heals quickly. Poor thing – I can just imagine the crying when it happened. Ack – enough to turn a mother’s blood to ice. Godspeed, little Guenna!
She did cry for quite some time right when it happened, more like screamed for quite sometime, I think the boys were just wondering when she was going to stop. But thankfully she was tired and I gave her Ibuprofen and she’s really not complained too much about it since then. But all I could think of while she was crying and writhing in pain was, I wish it were me :( Poor thing! She’s doing great now, and they gave me a little gauze sock thing to put over the bandage so that I she can’t mess with the tape, it’s working great and she can still use her hand fine.
Now you know how I felt when you fell off the bike when you were 7! I just kept thinking, “I wish it were me”!!
Oh, and did you get lots of snow?! I heard on the radio that Snohomish County had lots of snow, they were telling people if they didn’t have to go out to stay home! I hope you got out to get Chris and back home safely!
Just want to let you know that I’m praying that Guenna will heal quickly and that she will not suffer from scaring.
I know exactly what you are saying about wanting to take on the pain of your child. So often I cry out to God to let me take Luke’s place when he is so sick or having difficultly breathing. I’m just thankful that we can cry out to God in our time of need and that He truly does care enough to hear and answer us and bring the comfort that we desperately need.
I would love to see you again sometime. Are you planning to go to the Christian Heritage Conference in April? I hope so.
Love in Christ,
Sue
OH! Poor little pumpkin! I hope that she heals quickly and completely.
Bless you guys!
Love,
Karen
Thanks again for all the comments and prayers, it helps :) I feel a little like I’ve lost my rhythm, my house is a mess and I haven’t made a good meal for a few days, all because of a little burn on my baby’s hand. I’m thinking I’ve just about caught up on sleep and hopefully today I can get the house back into order!
We didn’t end up getting too much snow, it really started snowing in the evening and sticking, but not until after I had picked Chris up and we were at a restaurant. So he drove in the snow but not much. We have a skiff this morning, it wont last long. I need to see if I can go over to the neighbor’s this morning to ask her to help me redress Guenna’s hand. I haven’t done it yet so an extra hand or two would be helpful! :) Then in the evening Chris can help me.
Sue, we unfortunately wont be going to the Homeschool conference this year. I’m due on April 5th so either way, still pregnant or just having had a baby, I don’t think I will be up to a conference! :) But yes, we would love to see you again soon! Aidan out of the blue last night asked us, “Is Luke still sick? You know, Luke the boy?” He is still praying for him and we are all still believing with you for restoration. Thanks for commenting Sue, good to see you!
Hey Jenni!
Your little Guenna’s hand looks so painful! I’m so sorry that happened, but praise the Lord that He was able to provide the help you needed right here in the area instead of having to go to Harborview! Whew! He is so faithful, isn’t He?
I hope you are having a good week. Ours is going very well….very busy and fun, but definitely full! LOL!
Have a blessed day. We’ll have to try to get together again soon.
Love,
Jana
owchie! she sure looks brave in those pix! Now if that was me, I think I still would have been crying! I know what you mean about wishing you could switch places, that’s my first thought anytime my kids are hurting.
*hugs*
