Spring is in the air…

At least for a few days it is. Today the temp was in the low 50’s so we got to go for a walk, met the neighbor, who is affectionately known by Aidan as “The chicken lady,” out walking with her grandson. It was so nice to be out there, walking in the brisk cool air, sunshine, outdoors, getting some exercise without having to really “go” somewhere. It was still pretty cool but the kids loved it, Aidan did great walking next to the stroller like a big boy, he would run ahead of me, walking or running on the white line. It’s nice living on a one way street because we have a whole lane to ourselves that is hardly ever used, it used to be a two-way but now there is no outlet at the end of the road. Walking today really got me going, made me want to clean and organize. It’s amazing, I was feeling tired and ready to just go to bed, then I went for a walk and felt energized and ready to accomplish something, I got most of the dishes done and finished the rest after the kids went to bed, now I’m ready for the day tomorrow. Have you ever noticed that when you do the dishes the night before your day goes much smoother? I’m discovering this truth, it’s so good to start the day with a clean slate. So looking forward to tomorrow. The kids and I are getting used to staying home more often, Aidan asks me all the time, “can we go somewhere?” It makes me realize how much we leave the house, and really unnecessarily. So I’m weaning us all of that habit, I really enjoy life much better the more we stay home, and I spend a lot less on things we don’t need. Enough rambling, off to bed with me!
Can I just say, my husband is the best! He just installed another cupboard in our kitchen tonight, so before I go to bed I will most likely fill it :)

Any time I call you, you seem to be off and running. It makes me tired just thinking about it. I love staying home. Most weeks the only time I leave the house is to go to church. Partly because I just love to be home and partly because I hate to leave in such fridged wheather. It’s currently 14 degrees but with the wind chill it feels like 2 degrees. Chuch is about the only thing that can get me out of the house in this kind of wheather.
Hopefully I’ll get a nap in today. Elizabeth was up most of the night throwing up. I’m trying to teach her to puke in the bucket but so far no such luck. Have a great day!
I got out by myself for 2 hours today & was so energized I came home & rearranged both kids’ rooms, vaccuumed and did all my left over dishes. Who knew that all I needed was some alone time??? Way to go, getting outside! We keep getting outside just before the sunset and it gets cold…
Why does Aidan call the neighbor “The Chicken Lady”? I laughed so hard I had tears.
Tam, I know the answer to that one, she has chickens! And if I remember right, she let him feed them some scratch. What else would a little boy call a lady who has chickens!!
