Not too much going on

I needed to post something today but I also need to spend some time with my husband so I’ll make this short. Good day today, had fun going to our midwife appointment this morning in Everett, got my blood drawn for the glucose test, hopefully I wont have to retake it but I’ll find out in a couple days. I’ve been thinking that last week or so, since I have been having strong feelings that maybe this baby is a boy (before I thought I was sure this baby is a girl, now I really have no clue!). Anyway, the other day I realized, this baby may be a boy, just because I think this baby is a girl doesn’t mean it’s not a boy! And the more I was thinking about it I realized that I need to do something with the newborn baby clothes I have out in my garage, I need to find out if there are any that are salvageable or if we need to start from scratch again with our next boy. I guess I just want to make sure I have at least one outfit for both genders, ready when the baby comes. Anyway, just my passing thoughts, needing to prepare more for this little one’s arrival. I got my birth kit order form today and need to order that soon too so I have it ready. Looking forward to whatever the Lord has for us, we really need a boy name too. Any ideas?
I just wanted to write down something cute Aidan said at lunchtime today. Normally we all eat together, myself and the three kids, but we were out and about and so it was just Aidan and I and the others ate later. Anyway, I sat down to eat with him and a few minutes into our lunch he said, “I was wondering if we could pray for this wonderful food.” (We were having a tortilla with peanut butter and homemade jam). I said, “Oh yes, of course, would you like to pray?” I just think it’s great that he is so expressive and that He is learning to talk to the Lord at such a young age, it’s fun being a parent, so many challenges but definitely a joyful journey.

What is a birth kit?
I wouldn’t expect baby clothes to be a problem. Just let people know what you need and I’ve found people love to go clothe shopping for teensy tinsy babies.
Yes. Boy names are good :)
I keep thinking my baby is a girl. Have pretty much since the beginning. But we’re going to be (trying to) find out. So I can switch to saying “He” if I’m wrong :) it’s not that I’d mind a boy or anything. I’d like lots of boys. It’s just that we are naming our girl after DH’s grandmother and she’s already well over 90 so I’d like there to be a chance she gets to meet her namesake!
ACK. I can’t edit blog comments!
We’d like lots of boys because, tracing all descendants going back 6 generations in the family line, DH is the last male of childbearing age. So we need boys to carry the family line forward. And preferably multiple so that if Jesus tarries his coming, it won’t be quite so precarious in further generations.
Boys names are so hard for us. We have a list of girls names, but boys seem to be more hard. Our ongoing list that we always add to has on it:
Isaiah, Xavier, Trenton, Carwood, Noah, and Killian. My girlfriend is having a boy soon and is deciding between Lincoln and Logan (my brothers name, too.) and another named her little knight Quinn. All your children have beautiful names, I’m sure you’ll come up with another great name!
It’s funny we had a much harder time with girl names than boy names, and we have had to name two girls!
Anyway, I don’t know if you guys are into trendy names or not, but it seems the more old fashioned, the more the name is growing in popularity.
I saw the name Zander, it means- defender of men. Anyway don’t know if it’s up your guys’ alley or not, but it reminded me of you when I heard it. Don’t ask me why.
If not, there is always, Levi, Noah, Adam, and all the other biblical patriarchs.
Good Luck!
Oh yes, we like Noah and Adam! ;)
Let’s see Aidan, Eamon, Guenna, and Nathanael. That goes well. I used to babysit for a Nathanael, but we called him Neal…or Nealy. (I know wierd to switch the vowells).
If we have another boy we’re thinking Evan Nathanael…but you never know.
Your son makes me laugh! I’m catching up on reading your blog. My life has gotten so consumed with planning my wedding that I’ve been forgetting to check your blog.
I like a couple of Sara’s suggestions, Quinn and Killian, they both have a Celtic ring to them, which qualifies them for Burns kids names. What about Donal, the Irish for Donald, which was your great-grandpa Nelson’s middle name (that’s who your Uncle Don is named for, Donald Paul for his two grandpas).
