Guenna loves to praise the Lord
January 20th, 2007 by Jenni
Guenna’s new thing is raising her hands in the air, we discovered it at the dinner table the other day and she’s been doing it ever since. She started raising her hands because every night at dinner we sing a praise song to the Lord before we pray for our meal, and most nights the boys especially raise their hands in the air as they sing loudly the “Doxology” or “Gloria Patri,” so she learned it from her big brothers. Now every time she hears the Doxology being sung she immediately raises her hands in the air, it’s really cute. This morning we sat down to have breakfast and as soon as everyone was sat down she raised her hands in the air, and we took that as our cue that she wanted us to sing, what a sweet little leader she is already, encouraging our family to praise the Lord with her. She really does have a sweet heart and is really drawn to music. The other day I had music playing on the computer and she crawled into the room from the boys room, through the kitchen into the living room where the music was coming from and just sat up and wiggled to the music.
Well, this morning she was just too cute not to do a video of her raising her hands. Although you do get a little picture of the small battles we are working through with the boys, going on in the background :) It’s okay though, that’s life right?
I took another video of the boys playing with each other yesterday, they were cracking me up tickling each other yesterday so I had to get it on video. I don’t know if you noticed but I put a link on my sidebar to our dropshots account (that’s where you view the videos). Anyway, you will see the two latest videos I have posted there, just click on one of them to view or you can click on the link below it to view all of the videos. Here’s the video of the boys from yesterday…

Guenna was doing the “Praise the Lord” at church last Sunday morning. I think music just brings the joy out! She is such a precious little girl!
Children’s laughter should be used as a prescription for depression. It’s contagious and it releases endorfins!!!
How do you do the videos such that you can put them online?
I agree Nana Joan! :)
About the videos, we do them on our digital camera and download them to the computer along with our pictures, dropshots has an uploader that we installed when we got an account with them, you just drag and drop the file into the uploader and it downsizes the file and uploads it to your file online. We pay about $5.00 a month to have unlimited storage space, if you want a free account you can only upload I think 5 short videos a month.
Hrms. I have a digital camera. I’ll have to see if I can make videos with it or not.
(It’s not the online storage I’m concerned about right now but whether or not to get a camcorder now that we are having a baby — I’m really trying to keep things as simple as possible. We’re not exactly going to be rolling in dough — or space to put the new stuff — for a while :) ) But having videos that are online (friends bought a camcorder when their baby was little. She is 11 now and they can’t find any tapes to put in it OR anything to play their existing tapes on so they’ve lost them… I know this can happen to digital videos too… but at least I can send them easily to grandparents, etc and get more immediate enjoyment out…)
How precious! I LOVE the video of Guenna! Isn’t it wonderful when our children enjoy worshipping and praising the Lord with us?
I would suggest a $200 digital camera that has good video. We have yet to transfer any video from our camcorder to our computer. But its so easy to transfer from the memory card. Get an SD card capable camera and get a 1 gig SD card for about $50, that price is coming down all the time.
