This morning as I was getting Guenna’s breakfast and had already started the boys with some yogurt I overheard this conversation between my boys.

Eamon: I’m eating my yogurt. Ih dat funny?

Aidan: That’s not funny Eamon. You have a dirty face-that’s funny!

Eamon always seems to have a dirty face, while Aidan’s face and hands and clothes are usually void of dirt and food and such.  I got back to the table and Aidan and Eamon were still talking on the subject…

Aidan: I can make dirty faces too!

I thought that was funny because he said it like he was saying, “I can make funny faces too!”

Aidan: Look mom, I made a dirty face.

He had a very little dab of yogurt on his chin that was quickly removed (it was out of place and needed to be put right, but just this once I will put something dirty on my face, so as to be “funny”)

It’s fun watching and listening to our boys interaction, especially as Eamon gets older and can talk and converse with his big brother, even if he is corrected quite often by one so superior to himself, his much elder brother. They don’t always get along, and sometimes I feel as though I may like to put tape over both of their mouths. But then I might miss one of these spontaneous moments where they are just being them. So different and yet so close. I think their developing relationship is one that will only continue to bless me as a mom as they grow and mature and learn how to love one another selflessly. It’s such a blessing to watch your children becoming the best of friends.

That is so cute that they talk to each other like that! River and Abi are 3 1/2 years apart, so it’ll be awhile before they conversate with each other, hopefully they will be friends like aidan and eamon are. I’m sure their sister will be putting her 2 cents in soon enough!
