Cranberry Applesauce

It’s really simple, I put about 10 apples quartered into the crockpot, two cups of cranberries, and about an 1/8 cup sugar (optional).

Cooked on high for half the day.

Stirred it up.

Put it in the food mill

Put in freezer safe containers for later use. Very east and it turned out really good, it’s a nice tart applesauce good for a healthy snack, I will probably omit the sugar next time because it really doesn’t need it.

Would this work for regular applesauce if I left the cranberries out?

Yep, I make applesauce that way all the time. If you do it on the stove you want to add just a little water, maybe a half cup or less. Then bring it to a boil and let simmer for a long time depending on how thick you want it. Some people like to add some cinnamon, I usually add a dash or two. Then sauce and freeze
