Mommy and Guenevere

My wife is a great mother! I am so blessed that God has given her to me to help raise our children. Not a day goes by where she does not give her all to the challenge of motherhood. As a man I am amazed at just how much energy she can put into mothering. It seems like such a never ending task. Like climbing a sand dune, the steps appear to not make much ground, the piles don’t really go away, they just move from here to there. From my viewpoint it seems that her diligence is rewarded with yet more piles. :) I am so thankful that she embraces mothering as her calling, and is always looking for God’s best in the journey. Today at church Jenni spoke with a widower with five children. On the drive home we were talking about what it would be like to have to raise your children alone. Idon’t have a clue how I could do that. It would only be possible with God’s grace. So on this Mothers Day I just want to say to the entire world…

I love you Jenni Burns and couldn’t do it without you. There are not flowers enough or cards or anything else that I should have planned ahead and gotten for you that would share the depth of my appreciation for what you do every day and every night to nurture our children. You are a gift from God, and I am blessed to have you as my partner. Thank you from the depths of my heart.

I love you honey, and I too don’t even like to think of what it would be like doing this job without you. You are my strength every day and I love you so much!
