Life without heat…
We are happy to say that 1. we got to sleep in our own beds last night and 2. Chris and I are starting to recover from being sick all weekend. I have been sick for going on three weeks now and I'm getting a little tired of it to say the least (especially during this time of year when I have so much to do and so little energy to accomplish things!)
We ran out of propane (which runs our heat and hot water) last Thursday. Unfortunately our propane company didn't think it was a big deal so we didn't have heat for five days in the middle of the winter! We are blessed with family and were able to stay at Chris' parents house for four nights (another reason to have a large family). After our landlords twisted the arm of the propane company they managed to get a temporary tank out to us last night. We are grateful for that. And like I said, grateful to be at home and in our own beds.
So there's our family update :) We are going to put our little Christmas tree up tonight so it will be ready for me and the boys to decorate in the morning. It's a really small tree and I'm affraid our tree stand is a little overpowering but it is just going to have to do. I'm excited to decorate tomorrow though! And tomorrow starts the 12 days of Christmas (isn't that right to those of you who know better? We are going to do the 12 days with our stockings this year, a little gift each night and an explaination of what that day represented-should be lots of fun!).
Happy Christmas preparations to you all! :)
****Chris just brought in the Christmas tree and it is really cute! So I just popped in a piece of my son's peppermint candy cane to help me get into the Christmas cheer and going to put some lights on our little tree :) Pictures to come later!
Jenni, do you have anything in writing on the 12 days of Christmas, or is there a website I can go to? I was wanting to look it up for future reference.
Jenni~
Glad you have heat again! It’s really chilly here too, about 20 during the day. BRRRR…
You know I could be wrong but doesn’t the 12 days of Christmas begin on Christmas and end on Jan 5th? I’m going to have to look that up, but not now…too late…too tired. :)
Have a wonderful time decorating.
P.S. Sweet family photo, it was our first Christmas card!
P.S.
Robin~
I checked my bookmarks and here is the link to a site I happened across earlier this month.
http://www.cresourcei.org/cy12days.html
I have not read it completely through yet, perhaps it will be useful.
So sorry you’ve been sick! It seems like when I’m pregnant I have a constant cold, even though I know it’s the estrogen runny nose! :) Hope you feel better soon in your own warm house!!!
